The Role

What’s the job?

The incumbent is responsible for operating various machinery and equipment throughout a state-of-the-art glass mat facility in Oxford, NC. He/She will be responsible for operating the pulper, rewinder, or dry end job role as assigned by the production supervisor. The incumbent should possess effective communication skills and a thorough understanding of their assigned job roles operations and its complexities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Correctly obtain all required raw materials, supplies, labels, and packaging per product specification and assigned job role
  • Perform visual inspection of job processes and verify it meets quality specifications set by the company
  • Conduct operations according to established quality and productions standards and/or procedures for assigned job role
  • Communication of production issues or concerns on shift
  • Maintain a thoroughly cleaned area in and around assigned job role
  • Achieve and maintain qualification on all production operator job roles as required
  • Ability to relieve to winder job role as required
  • Must work in a manner that is safe while continuously ensuring quality, production and performance expectations are met.
  • Participation and completion of required Environmental, Health and Safety training. Responsible for performing SMAT observations and other audit programs, cleaning, painting, and maintaining 5S system.
  • Participation and completion of required EH&S training.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout on the equipment of assigned job role
  • Complete and maintain mobile equipment certifications (i.e., floor scrubber, bobcat, and lull)

Principal Project Management Engineer

The position focuses on overall process and project management, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, engineering, and strategic automation. Responsible for participating in process design, capability, and control; including designing, selecting, accepting and developing processes for new production and automation equipment. Capital planning and project management are key required competencies.

Responsible for strategic and tactical planning to control the risks associated with process development and industrialization. Perform individual analysis or lead analysis teams to identify the critical parameters required to produce quality products, which meet or exceed product specifications. In addition, a commitment to statistical analysis tools is critical for the successful support of the appropriate WCM (Operational Excellence) pillars.

This role will be required to have sound technical and leadership abilities, along with structured and methodical project management skills, i.e., project charter development, statement of work, project planning and scheduling, actions and deliverables, milestones, risk assessment and proactive corrective actions, good management and controls, excellent documentation, and thorough supportive project handoff. This role is accountable for overall engineering project management with advanced technical support in the areas of safety and productivity.

Accountable for install, setup, troubleshoot and validate engineering projects group wide. Excellent understanding of engineering fundamental principles and their applications and be a project management professional or have equivalent experience. A strong IQ and EQ balance, i.e., strong mechanical, chemical, and electrical knowledge and a strong collaborative and engaging leadership style. Knowledge of mechanical assemblies, drive components and electrical equipment ability to perform electrical and mechanical testing and troubleshooting utilizing schematics and experience, i.e., mechanical drives, industrial process control systems and production equipment, PLC’s, HMI’s, hydraulic motors, pumps and valves, material handling equipment, extrusion equipment, bulk chemical systems, batch mixing, facility equipment and packaging equipment. The role requires your commitment, support, and complete ownership through the end of each project where you do not segue the project to the group once it is completely validated and then closed out.

Industrial Electrician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

In this hands-on Industrial Electrician role, you will provide secondary production support by performing diverse duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment while complying with all safety regulations at the CertainTeed Gypsum Finishing Corner Production Plant in Bend, Oregon. You will also perform, coordinate, and supervise electrical activities and be engaged in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the plant’s electrical power, communication, and lighting systems.

As an Industrial Electrician, you will be under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

Work Schedule

Shift schedules are fixed with the current opening on the Day Shift (Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM).

Compensation

As an Industrial Electrician with a current LME Electrical License, your base pay rate will start at $45.00 per hour.  Electrician Journeymen will start at $50.00 per hour. Compensation will commensurate with your experience and skills.

Job Duties

  • Provide second-tier corrective repair of production equipment during production hours and scheduled maintenance repair of production equipment during machine services.
  • Inspect wiring and fixtures for conformance to company specifications or local electrical codes and recommend and perform upgrades to ensure compliance.
  • Plan wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures such as motors, generators, switches, sensors, circuit breakers, circuit relays, and industrial controls.
  • Fabricate new and replacement equipment according to blueprints or shop/engineering drawings, specification sheets, and measurements taken from existing machinery.
  • Purchase and receive parts and services, and report expenses within the department budgetary guidance and spending discipline, including securing CapEx quotes and bid waivers.
  • Understand production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Document work accurately in the CMMS on behalf of self and the team.
  • Function as the subject matter expert on designated processes and equipment, and the primary trainer for the team.
  • Keep current on all relevant safety training, standards, and procedures while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Support management and engineering with, and participate in, continuous improvement, research, and development activities.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

What will you do?

  • Report progress to internal stakeholders.

Strategic Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability Manager

The Strategic Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability (EHS&;S) Manager spearheads the development of EHS and Sustainability strategies and drives culture within Saint-Gobain Research North America (SGRNA). The role involves close collaboration with SGR NA members, SG’s broader EHS&S network in North America, global R&D Center EHS&S teams, company executives, and external contractors. Based at Saint-Gobain’s North American R&D facility in Northboro MA, this on-site position reports to the Director of Operations.

Leading a dedicated team, the Strategic EHS&S Manager oversees the execution of EHS policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to all pertinent regulations and standards. This manager also chairs the Sustainability Committee, a team responsible for advancing and overseeing the Sustainability Roadmap, as well as steering sustainability endeavors within the facility. As a result, a strong understanding of Scope 1, 2, 3 levers and prior experience around CO2 emission reduction, energy reduction, VPPA contracts, solar and wind installation or related activities is required. They must adeptly build results-oriented teams, manage both departmental and capital expenditure budgets, foster strong networks within the global Saint-Gobain community, and engage with government entities at multiple levels.

The ideal prospect is a seasoned EHS&S leader who is passionate about all aspects of EHS&S, has an innovative mindset and demonstrated track record of impactful results (with the critical inclusions of strategy development and sustainability initiatives). A history of influencing without authority and employment of trust, empowerment and collaboration (TEC) principles across all organizational tiers and with external parties (including regulatory bodies and suppliers) is essential. Effective, clear, and respectful communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) are critical for this role, particularly the ability to tailor messages for diverse groups. Given the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of the environment, we require someone energized and organized, capable of juggling responsibilities and responding to community needs promptly.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the EHS strategy, identifying short, medium and long-term initiatives to improve and maintain EHS excellence at SGR NA and associated locations. Create a detailed blueprint for achieving strategic objectives that are aligned with corporate vision and goals, and in accordance with the SG EHS Management System.
  • Lead the Sustainability Committee to generate and maintain the Sustainability Roadmap plus guide sustainability initiatives at the center.  Craft a detailed plan to achieve roadmap objectives ensuring alignment with corporate requirements and expectations of SGRNA community with operational and R&D Teams.
  • Lead the EHS team and subcommittees to execute the short, medium and long-term EHS objectives for SGRNA and associated sites. Guide the Sustainability, operational and R&D teams to achieve sustainability goals.
  • Oversee EHS team members as they lead transversal R&D center EHS best practice exchanges and act as SafetyPlus Champion for contractor vetting.   • Provides input into the planning and scheduling of projects.

Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as forklifts, buggies, genie booms, and industrial sweepers travels throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

The main objective of this position is to support on-going logistics initiatives throughout the Roofing Group in an undefined department:

  1. This position is a flexible function in that the analyst could be assigned to one of the following departments; Transport, DRP, Material Master, Customer Service (Data Management Support) and Production Planning.

  5. Maintain master production planning data to best utilize our planning systems

Demand Planning and DRP Duties

  • Prepare sales analysis for “externally produced” and manufactured products stocked at all Distribution Centers in the Roofing Group.
  • Create reports and gather data, monitor trends and compile statistics from data management systems, extract information to Excel and calculate min/max/median/average for each product.
  • Identify products sales level and point out the low sellers or non-sellers at a six month’s level.
  • Prepare Service Level Agreement [SLA] proposals to be reviewed with Regional Sales managers.
  • Prepare presentations for SLA review to include but not limited to, product statistics, graphics, and other methods of articulation for externally produced and manufactured sku’s shipped by each DC for the 12 months’ period, number of inter-plant transfers per DC, etc.

Production Planning and scheduling duties

  • Develop production plans to meet customer demand and working capital targets
  • Daily, weekly, monthly, review of existing and future production planning and budgetary planning preparations
  • Review monthly sales forecast projections
  • Maintain master production planning data to best utilize our planning system
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing work schedules
  • Ensure that schedules support daily on time shipping performance
  • Working with the customer service department, ensure that production schedules are meeting our both manufacturing and customer service requirements to properly communicate availability dates

Transportation duties

  • Traffic operations reporting: Designs ongoing and ad-hoc analyses to measure the impact of regular functions or projects on the transportation network. Examples include: miscellaneous shipments, dedicated fleet empty mileage, customer geographic density reports, lead time reports, on time delivery reports, equipment weight capabilities, and planner service levels.
  • Transportation Key Performance Indicators: Develops and maintains key performance indicators and minimum standards to report carrier performance measurements. Examples include: on time delivery, cost, billing / invoice accuracy, capacity commitment, claims, and supplier procedural compliance.

Customer Service & Export/Import Duties

  • Obtain knowledge of U.S. Export Regulations and applicable Foreign Government Regulations to ensure company adherence while on the job through various sources.
  • Partake in day to day activities in tandem with departmental needs, goals and seasonal fluctuations.

SAP Systems Set-Up and Master File Maintenance
