Hours: 7:00am -3:30pm, OT as needed, Monday-Friday

Salary: $19.00 - $25.00 an hour

Essential Duties:

The position reports directly to Operations and produces machined wood panels by setting up and operating a CNC machine. Focus includes:

  • Reading/interpreting the blueprint designs of the product to the customer specification
  • Sets up router to manufacture arts; loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first run part, and sample work pieces.
  • Makes tooling adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements
  • Periodically checks the CNC machine to ensure the positioning of tooling stays perfectly aligned
  • Maintains equipment by performing routine autonomous maintenance

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • HS diploma, GED
  • 3-5 years of CNC operations within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment with little or no supervision
  • Methodical/analytical problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational/time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • 2-year technical degree in Machine Technology or comparable degree preferred
  • Must be capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) necessary to comply with government and company safety standards
  • Job includes tasks that require bending, lifting materials weighing up to 50 lbs., twisting, gripping, and stair climbing

Job Responsibilities

Will operate different types of packing equipment and know all associated safety procedures of each piece of equipment. Keep the working area in a clean, neat, tidy condition on a continual basis.

Job Description

The assembler is responsible producing quality products to specifications of customers as defined on the product prints and routers. Full participation in activities in the clean room (assembly, heat sealing, cleaning, packing, etc.) to achieve on-time shipment goals and efficiency targets.

Essential Functions

• Read product prints and specifications prior to starting assembly process.

• Follow assembly procedures.

• Fill out all paperwork documenting steps performed, quantities, and quality checks performed.

• Collect components for assembly ensuring lot number traceability.

• Clean components and assemblies with alcohol (IPA).

• Package assemblies in plastic bags and heat seal.

• Perform other related tasks, including but not limited to, performing housekeeping tasks required to keep work areas clean and organized.

• Observe all safety rules and regulations including the wearing of protective equipment when required. Report any accidents and unsafe conditions to management.

• Replenish supplies.

• Must be available for overtime work when necessary.

• Maintain and practice manufacturing procedures.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Efficient and willingness to perform required work with good attendance and attitude. Understand SOP's relating to the department activities.   • Understand and follow proper LOTO procedures. Use proper LOTO when working on equipment

  • Must understand basic computer skills and ability to use a CMMS system.
  • Must have the ability to replace chains, all types of belts, and valves used in the plant.
  • Must have the ability to identify and replace bearings, sprockets, bushings, gearboxes, including lubrication requirements.
  • Must be able to perform preventive maintenance, plus lubrication on the production lines and support equipment as required, independent of other mechanics
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize math in fraction and decimals
  • Demonstrate knowledge of metric measuring systems

Fire Testing Engineer II

  • Saint-Gobain Research North America is currently looking for a Fire Testing Engineer for our new fire testing facility located in Northboro, MA, to support product development and commercialization of building materials for residential and commercial construction.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Fire Testing Engineer II will be responsible for the construction and fire testing of building materials and systems in accordance with industry standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fire testing in accordance with industry standards (ASTM, UL, NFPA, etc…).
  • Development and maintenance of laboratory processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintenance and operation of fire test furnaces, including engineering and emission controls.
  • Installation and operation of sensors, including accompanying hardware and software, in accordance with industry standards
  • Material procurement, management and handling including construction of wall and floor test assemblies.
  • Drafting test reports that include the properties/details of the materials and/or system, detailed drawings and bill of materials of the assemblies, and test results as specified by the applied standards
  • Identify potential environmental health and safety issues by reviewing safety data sheets of materials and the design of the assemblies prior to testing. Should be able to distinguish between standard designs and novel constructions with no prior testing history.

  • Working knowledge of 5S organizational methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and fact-finding skills; ability to recognize and understand issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, expected to be concise and scientifically relevant and accurate.
  • Strong project management skills, including management of materials, resources, and schedules.

The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for managing technical activities including engineering, product development, Tech Transfer, application engineering, and support to customers and other departments. This position is to focus on C-FLEX twin and single screw extrusion, compounding & molding.

Key Accountabilities: 

• Production support

• Troubleshooting production (C-FLEX twin and single screw extrusion, Compounding & molding a PLUS) to alleviate manufacturing process losses

• Outsources the repair and maintenance of tooling, and ensures tools are serviceable at all times

• Control of contractors

• Support projects and change orders being conducted by colleagues

• Conduct Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) to determine root cause and remediation of repetitive defects/issues

• Assess and authorize process deviations

• Advise on root causes of non-conforming materials Project Management

• Initiate and manage change order requests which include but not limited to elements of environment, health and safety, purchasing, quality, and engineering

• Plans, develops, and executes projects to reduce waste through improved manufacturing and process efficiency, using WCM methodologies

• Initiate formal requests for capital equipment using substantiated justifications

• Implement new processes and equipment by using IQ/OQ/PQ validations

• Updating validations as needed due to process changes

• Troubleshooting

• Drafting and editing SOPs

• Training World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
