WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or other relevant field required
  • 4 years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in a union environment preferred, with knowledge of labor laws/compliance, as well as government regulations. The incumbent must have a solid understanding of the NLRA and its effect on functioning in a union environment
  • Understanding of organizational development, compensation systems, benefits administration, safety programs, and training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $79,500 to $123,400 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of the base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450 to $ 135,740 Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and are not a guarantee

Job Summary

Compensation - $24.00 per hour

Training: Training Completed on 1st shift

Job Duties:

  • Run efficient production lines, problem-solving to ensure products meet quality specifications, including checking product and equipment frequently, making immediate adjustments or changes to lines when needed.
  • Keep lines and production floor clean and free of debris and stocked for the incoming shift.
  • Consistently communicate problems or needs with supervisor and assistant supervisor and communicate with all team members.

The Role
What’s the job?

The CertainTeed facility in L’Anse Michigan manufactures ceiling tiles. We work hard together to create an environment that teaches our employees manufacturing skills. We are looking for a dedicated maintenance mechanic to increase our team’s efficiencies by supporting maintaining our facilities and equipment.

Schedule: Training conducted on day shift (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.) with rotating shifts after training is completed. Individuals must be flexible on shift hours assigned and overtime requirements.

Compensation: Starting wage $29.98-$31.80 depending on experience.

  • Follow all safety rules and rules as established in the employee handbook.
  • Follow standard operating procedures.
  • Operate various hand tools including the use of hand grinders, drills, pneumatic air guns, etc.
  • Must have the ability to read machine diagrams and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • May perform basic/precision maintenance duties to include: reducer/coupling alignment, motor alignment, mounting taper bore bearings with taper sleeve adaptors, mount pillow block, and flange bearing to specifications.
  • Has the ability to dismantle, repair, and reassemble conveying systems (live roller, belt, and screw).
  • Has the ability to operate metal saws; is proficient in drilling/tapping.
  • Is proficient in welding, oxy/acetylene cutting, and plasma cutting.
  • Completes maintenance work orders as needed.
  • Maintains good housekeeping as established by Operator Duty Sheets and identifies gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Operates forklift as needed.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in good working condition.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EHS Manager

Job Summary

Primary Functions:

The EHS Manager will provide direction and leadership to all plant department managers, supervisors and employees in matters dealing with EHS related matters and will serve as leader for the plant’s various safety efforts. This role proactively drives awareness, communicates best practices, and implements new programs related to Safety.  They will work to ensure safe behavior, machinery, and regulatory compliance for EHS through the entire site.  Facilitating collaborative discussions, projects and best-practice sharing across other key manufacturing sites regarding EHS topics will be required while also leading continuous improvement of EHS Management System.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership: Lead the WCM Health & Safety Pillar, Crisis Management Committee, and contributing member of the Fremont Leadership Team.  Manage and develop EHS program throughout indirect reports to ensure safe behavior, safe equipment, and regulatory compliance of all outside contractors. Lead and oversee the efforts in support of the site's Statistical and Non-Statistical goals. Exhibits model behavior as related to EHS policies and practices and enforces safety rules and regulations in a manner consistent with the corporate Values and Attitudes. Work closely with RPG Safety Leadership and Regional Support.

Change Agent: Proactively drive awareness and communicate best practices related to Safety, promoting an autonomous EHS culture. Develop, schedule and deliver impactful and interactive training to supervisors, employees and contractors on subjects related to EHS. Identify and champion impactful initiatives seeking continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental compliance.

Safety Practices: Continuously inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, processes, and workplace to ensure compliance with government safety regulations, corporation, and industry standards. Oversee investigations and reporting of incidents including near-miss, First-Aid and Accidents involving injuries and/or property damage and make recommendations for corrective action. Oversee and maintain site risk assessment initiatives such as Risk Assessments and develop and implement action plans. Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance and Production Departments to ensure machinery, tooling, and all equipment are safe and ergonomically sound.

Regulatory Compliance: Oversee the filing of all internal, corporate, local, state, and federal reporting relating to regulatory compliance and maintain ISO 14001. Responsible to stay abreast of current OSHA requirements and act as Site liaison for OSHA and maintain hazardous waste disposal program. Lead First Aid/CPR, PPE, and AED programs. Creates, implements, trains and audits environmental, health and safety policies, procedures, and practices for Fremont.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree four-year advanced degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Master’s degree in engineering, Safety Sciences - Preferred
  • Three to five years’ experience in California safety/environmental management experience or related field.
  • 6 – 8 years - Experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of success in reducing occupational injuries and maintaining compliance with pertinent regulations. – Required
  • Familiar with CALOSHA state requirements and OSHA logs and postings.

Pay Transparency:

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $112,887 to $174,924.

The primary function of the Maintenance Electronic Technician is to trouble shoot pneumatics, electronics to the component level, as well as work on PLC ladder logic. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Will possess a thorough understanding as well as hands-on experience with electrical &; electronics maintenance principals.
  • Troubleshoot machine break down and repair situations and safely restore the machine to the proper operating condition.
  • Ability to solve machine operation problems using a skill set of deductive reasoning, and electric test meters.
  • Inspect, replace, or repair non-operational equipment and/or components of equipment that are hindering the equipment from operating efficiently.
  • Test electrical systems, and equipment, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Work closely with the other Maintenance department crafts to support initiatives that improve equipment reliability.

  • Complete understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic theory.
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of electrical principles and adequate skills to understand various plant processes.
  • Assist line mechanics and electricians as necessary when needed to support production including all of the above listed tasks and other means of support as needed.

    - Training others on process assembly method
    - Try new process and collaborate in productivity and industrialization improvements, which means try new tools and different process flow.
  • Adhering according to specifications
  • Packaging finished goods in large pallets, wooden boxes, cardboard boxes or other standard packaging
  • Utilizing all established PPE at all times
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; informing supervisors and team leads when machinery needs repairs; and adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
