Job Summary

The Role

 

The Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible to safely maintain and repair the plant equipment and any facilities maintenance required.

To maintain a well-organized and clean work station and update required documentation to insure accurate records. Dependability is an essential part of this job as well as the ability to team with co-workers.

Location: Social Circle, GA 30025
Compensation: $32.24 hourly rate
Work Schedule: Flex shift - Training on 1st shift (7am - 3pm) Mon-Fri then start on rotating schedule.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Adhere to all plant/OSHA safety rules.
  • Adhere to all JSA’s pertaining to the extrusion line.
  • Perform safety inspections and report all unsafe conditions or Near Miss events immediately.
  • Wear all PPE as required
  • Follow all environmental and housekeeping requirements, properly dispose of trash, regularly sweep, keeping material, oil and water off floors
  • Perform work orders as assigned – daily - to include a wide variety of industrial mechanical repairs and/or basic electrical repairs
  • Housekeeping of areas worked in – daily
  • Shop housekeeping – weekly
  • Enter time in SAP work order system – daily
  • Checking out parts – daily
  • Preventative Maintenance – as assigned
  • Consistent and regular on-time attendance
  • Knowledge and experience with material handling systems
  • Knowledge and experience with pneumatic conveying
  • Knowledge and experience with power transmission
  • Knowledge and experience with Program Logic Controllers
  • Proficient in troubleshooting industrial mechanical equipment
  • Proficient in troubleshooting industrial electrical equipment
  • Any other duties assigned
  • Job may require use of ladder or climbing of stairs, shoveling of material and use of equipment when qualified such as floor or MHE machines.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • One year related experience and/or training along with AA degree or equivalent of education and experience or 3-5 years related experience
  • Use of hand tools and measuring devices is helpful
  • Must be able to walk, sit and Stand for the duration of your shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

  • Team Building- Strong team building skills are a plus
  • Working Under Deadline- Ability to complete assigned tasks under specified deadlines is critical.

  • Satisfactory Attendance and performance record within past 12-month period
  • Satisfactory completion of associated training programs
  • Demonstrated ability of cooperation, leadership and willingness to assist fellow employees in a team-based work environment
  • Willingness to work overtime and at times on short notice
  • Ability to perform the responsibilities of the position including times when there is limited or no supervision
  • Thorough understanding of safety rules and the safe operation of production machinery
  • Previous manufacturing experience and length of time with Saint-Gobain will be strongly considered.

Under the direction of the Regional Quality Manager (West), this position is responsible for the leadership and direction of quality initiatives along with performance of products manufactured in the Roofing plant of Wilmington, CA.   • Manages quality management system and analytical services programs and functions.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $98,000 to $151,760.

EHS Manager

Job Summary

The Role

This position is responsible for managing the complete EH&S programs for the Portland, OR facility under the ISO 14001and OHSAS 18001 standards, to minimize all EH&S risks and reduce potential liabilities. The incumbent will be responsible for regulatory and company environmental, compliance activity and facilitating the site Environmental Management System (EMS) per the ISO 14001 standard. Requires strong leadership, and collaborates with supervisors, managers, and employees for compliance training, governmental regulations, facility policies, and environmental objectives. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

 Must apply professional communication principles, safety standards, and analytical techniques. Investigate EH&S-related incidents, implement corrective actions, and maintain knowledge of regulations. Contribute to hazard reviews and ensure compliance with SPCC Plan.

  • Lead the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and safety incentives to enhance safety continually.
  • Manage plant proactive EHS processes: Gensuite, TF-4, TF-5, EvE, 4.0RMS
  • Monitors and recommends new EHS programs based on regulations.
  • Ensure site internal SG EHS standards, requirements, and external (ISO14001) requirements are met by the site.
  • Ensure all employee safety training requirements are met.
  • Perform and update risk assessments for routine and non-routine tasks.
  • Work in coordination with department managers and regional EHS Manager
  • Must interact effectively with all plant personnel and contractors; strong social skills required.
  • Ensures effective communication of EHS matters and prompt response to employee concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations for waste, emissions, water, and health records.
  • Evaluate project environmental impact and implement mitigation measures.
  • Coordinates safety incident investigations and ensures prompt corrective actions.
  • Actively participate in the daily production meetings
  • Manage EHS calendars with periodic review.
  • Coordinate with management to schedule maintenance and upgrades for safety equipment.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Occupational Safety & Health and/or Environmental Management Degree Preferred)
  • Three to five years of experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office including Excel/Word/Powerpoint.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards

What’s the job?

The Operations Manager, in alignment with the Company's Vision, Mission Statement and Values and under the direction of the Plant Manager, supervises the production and warehouse activities at the Junction City Finishing Plant. Using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) applications and processes, the Operations Manager assures compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) directives and they drive continuous efficiency improvements.

The Operations Manager also supervises 10 to 15 employees of various skills while providing all internal and external customers preferred service and quality.

The Operations Manager’s assigned work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some flexibility available).

Essential Duties:

  • Enforce safety policies so that employees, contractors and visitors achieve a target of zero accidents.
  • Ensure annual and monthly safety checks are completed and records retained for audit purposes.
  • Assure systems are in place to maintain all equipment in the plant to meet benchmark targets and environmental standards.
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a competent labor force.
  • Manage schedules for all joint tape lines.
  • Monitor quality systems to assure all products are shipped within targeted specifications.
  • Meet cost budgets through the efficient use of all resources.
  • Assure plant compliance with company internal control standards.
  • Purchase maintenance, repair and operation (MRO) supplies and other plant resources.
  • Maintain and improve plant performance standards, corporate projects and training assignments.

Other Duties:

  • Assist in the development of the yearly master business plan and plant budget
  • Assist in competitive product testing and be involved with field sales calls as needed.
  • Manage the acquiring and maintaining of plant licenses and permits.
  • Manage daily activities when the Plant Manager is not on site.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Required Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree in either Engineering or Business (or relevant manufacturing experience with essentially the same responsibilities as outlined in the herein job description)
  • Hands-on general maintenance and equipment troubleshooting skills with an emphasis on the safe and methodical analysis of machine problems followed by a drive to continuously improve.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of computers applications including Microsoft Office, enterprise resources planning (ERP) systems, and programmable logic controls (PLCs).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experienced in World Class Manufacturing or Lean Techniques

The Customer Experience Manager is a key member of the Americas Leadership Team, responsible for shaping and executing business strategies that enhance customer experience and business integration. This role involves directly overseeing the U.S. customer service organization, driving improvements in customer management quality and activities. Additionally, the manager indirectly influences supply chain processes and material management to enhance customer satisfaction. They are also responsible for ensuring compliance with export control laws for all Solar Gard products in the U.S. and South America. The manager leads a team of functional leaders, including the Customer Experience, Branch Manager in Phoenix, AZ, and regional support staff in Largo, FL to ensure that customer service and warehouse teams adhere to best practices and achieve departmental and company objectives. This role is crucial for supporting growth by enhancing customer experience, optimizing supply chain operations, and integrating business activities.

Essential Functions of the Role:

Customer Experience: Lead the U.S. customer service team, with indirect oversight of LATAM, to improve customer management and service quality. Implement initiatives to maintain high service standards and ensure timely, consistent product delivery. Build strong partnerships with internal/external stakeholders to achieve key objectives. Maintain professional relationships with customers, providing technical support when needed, and develop standardized policies and procedures across U.S. Service Centers, focusing on A/R, freight collections, warranty policies, and inventory control.

Customer Services & Supply Chain: Foster continuous improvement within supply chain to enhance customer experience. Ensure that shipping and freight collection procedures at U.S. Service Centers comply with company policies. Lead team of functional leaders, including Branch Manager in Phoenix, AZ, to ensure best practices and alignment with department and company goals. Oversee A/R collections for USA and LATAM, process credit card transactions with proper backups, and meet annual budget targets while staying flexible to solve problems and meet customer needs.

Customer Relationship Management: Provide feedback to customers and U.S. Service Centers, managing business and process integration according to priorities. Generate monthly reports on departmental operations, highlighting areas for improvement and success. Ensure compliance with ISO procedures and company policies, guiding Customer Service Staff accordingly. Investigate and resolve order issues, maintain up-to-date dealer database for future promotions, and develop new strategies and training to deliver excellent customer service. Manage challenging situations professionally and promote a positive team atmosphere.

Team and Organizational Development: Coach, mentor, and develop direct and extended team, creating and monitoring individual development plans to address skill gaps. Facilitate cross-functional team initiatives, fostering a customer-focused mindset and clear communication among all team members. Maintain accurate employee records, including attendance, and provide HR with necessary documentation. Conduct all business activities safely and respectfully, in line with Saint-Gobain Principles of Conduct & Action.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Essential Requirements for the Role:

  • Possess Bachelor’s degree in business management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ minimum work experience in direct industry sales management and operations management.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $112,887 - $174,924. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Strategy

  • Validate and ensure execution of the Indirect Purchasing strategy to optimize site purchases at Saint-Gobain in North America with est. $650MM+ spend responsibility across Indirect site purchasing categories. The Strategy will align with corporative initiatives, properly translating these goals into tangible actions and deliverables that incorporate business unit specific requirements approved by Purchasing leaders across North America.
  • Establish and lead cross-functional teams to develop, advocate, and implement best-in-class purchasing category strategies to achieve short and long-term objectives, working closely with related internal departments (e.g. Purchasing Operations, EHS, Finance, Legal, Real Estate) to ensure success.
  • Maintain an understanding of industry purchasing best practices, sustainability and technology trends and continually educate team members and business partners; effectively communicate applicable industry information to relevant stakeholders and leadership. Pioneer changes in process after identifying Market best practices.
  • Proactively develop and manage strategy with Site Purchase suppliers to identify large-scale improvements across multiple sites including requirements for supplier reporting of program benefits and future opportunities where success is measured by feedback from the factory floor.

Sourcing and Contract Management

  • Develop, lead, and maintain sourcing activities that deliver the category strategy objectives:  Identify spend, control sourcing strategy, and lead all sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract negotiations, and supplier selection to optimize the value proposition and drive savings associated with the various categories of indirect spend for North American businesses.  Initiate team utilization of digital purchasing e-Tools.
  • Act as the link that harmonizes Site Purchases Optimization Strategy and align it with the Global Purchasing Teams (Paris) upstream as well as downstream to localized Site Purchasing teams in Saint-Gobain North America plants.
  • Lead contractual discussion with Vendors, engaging risk partners (Commercial Legal Counsel, IP Legal Counsel, Insurance, Cyber-security, etc.) according to project requirements and ensure a successful transition from the sourcing process to achieve the required business and functional needs; Finally, ensure all project documentation is maintained per policies.
  • Maintain a robust contract management process with SLA tracking, periodic Executive meetings or through any other necessary channels to guarantee purchases are delivered as negotiated between the Parties.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Performance and Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and validate KPI reports to track program performance and ensure regular, consistent stakeholder engagement for each assigned category; collect and manage data from external (suppliers) resources as well as other industry benchmarks and internal purchasing resources.  Engage with stakeholder leadership to partner in supplier meetings to ensure service level tracking, compliance, and opportunities for improvements/incremental cost savings.  Prepare and publish progress and periodic reports to management.
  • Ensure periodic reviews for all Saint-Gobain businesses in North America related to Site Purchase strategy, preferred suppliers, and performance against compliance measurements.
  • Oversee Quarterly reviews for all Saint-Gobain businesses in North America related to MRO strategy, preferred suppliers, and performance against compliance measurements supporting site stakeholder community comprised of buyers, engineers, maintenance, and management personnel.
  • Guide and empower the Category Managers in material preparation for yearly reviews with Management Committee members related to Central Purchase strategy, preferred suppliers, and supplier performance..

People and Operational Management

  • Manage, maintain, and trust a high-performing team supporting site/networking optimized purchasing categories including coaching and mentoring direct reports on Indirect Purchasing strategy; Strong process focus; harmonization & best practices; and Applicable approvals (new vendor, p-card, etc.).
  • Drive regional project engagement through on-site travel and supplier relationship management/issue resolution, as well as to lead training for sites deemed deficient through performance management metrics requiring training activities for site personnel related to centrally managed programs.
  • Manage and react to day-to-day operational challenges with a centralized supply base reported by site community with a focus on adaptable and simple solutions that are scalable to 200+ sites, with an understanding that some projects require localized solutions to serve stakeholders.
  • Provide multi-modal communication to all levels of site stakeholders and global Purchasing leaders.
  • Understand applicable company policy and ensure personal and team compliance including the purchasing policy and procedures.

Other Duties

  • Align newly acquired businesses into the CertainTeed/Saint-Gobain Purchasing function and deploy synergies within the preferred vendor network aimed at reducing cost or improving service.
  • Consistent review of supplier catalogs available in Saint-Gobain’s buying platform, Agora, to assess the ever-evolving needs of employees in need of a streamlined, non-Purchasing led purchase process and collaboration with the Director, Indirect Purchasing, and the Senior Manager, Indirect Central Purchasing to improve the program.  Additionally, monitoring of Saint-Gobain employee usage of the Agora platform to find opportunities for continuous improvement.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing, Logistics, Business, or similar field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing company/environment preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in purchasing, sourcing, and procurement with a focus on indirect goods and services highly preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence all levels of employees and management, both inside the company and externally with suppliers.
  • Interest in developing a high-performing team and managing employee growth.
