Saint-Gobain announces that it has entered into a definitive agreement for the acquisition of Building Products of Canada Corp. (“Building Products of Canada”), a privately owned manufacturer of residential roofing shingles and wood fiber insulation panels in Canada, for C$1,325 million (approximately €925 million) in cash.

Saint-Gobain North America today announced that La-Toya Hackney, the company’s Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary has been named to the Top 20 of Empower’s Executives Role Model List 2023. This honor recognizes La-Toya’s commitment to creating a more diverse and equitable workplace and community. 

Saint-Gobain, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed LLC, has installed a smart water submetering system and upgraded equipment at its siding plant in Jackson, Michigan, reducing the site’s consumption of water by more than nine million gallons per year, a reduction of more than 50% compared to 2019 levels.

Saint-Gobain North America today announced that it has been recognized with three Stevie® Awards in the 21st annual American Business Awards®. Specifically, the company was honored with two silver Stevies® in the categories of Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility and Achievement in Environment, Social, and Governance, and a bronze Stevie® in the category of Achievement in Human Resources. 

The Saint-Gobain North America Foundation and building materials subsidiary CertainTeed contributed over $175,000 in siding and insulation products and monetary donations to Volumetric Building Companies (VBC) Giving Foundation’s Veterans Village Project, a 47-unit new construction permanent housing community for Veterans. 

Yesterday, Saint-Gobain North America held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new CertainTeed Interior Products facility in Social Circle, Georgia, where it will manufacturer corners performance products as part of the company’s existing high quality interior finishings portfolio. The new plant will create 16 new jobs and expand CertainTeed’s already robust presence in the Social Circle community.   

This week, Saint-Gobain North America held the United States National round of the Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest, awarding the top prize to Xuhan Zhao of Rhode Island School of Design for her innovative design to revitalize an underutilized public space in the City of Lisbon, Portugal.
